Communicating complex science requires more than clarity—it demands vision. For the team of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory Microdevices Lab (MDL), the annual report is a critical platform for sharing breakthroughs, progress, and potential with key government stakeholders and decision makers.
Over the years, we’ve built a trusted, highly collaborative partnership with MDL, expanding our role to support projects across multiple mediums. Translating complex, highly technical research into clear, compelling narratives is both a challenge and a craft we enjoy. Through thoughtful design and storytelling, we highlight the lab’s contributions to NASA and JPL priorities—work that has been recognized with multiple design awards.
Each year, we approach the report as a new creative opportunity. Through in-depth client conversations, we establish a strong thematic framework that guides the design and content. As the publication has evolved from a 30-page marketing piece to a 70-page content-rich report, we’ve maintained clarity, visual impact, and cohesion—proving that even the most complex information can be both accessible and beautifully designed.
